The world's cutest squid
On July 22, 2019, the striped piglet squid, commonly known as the "piglet squid," was found and photographed by an American diver at 1,385 meters in Hawaiian waters. This name is also very realistic. I don't know how the striped piglet squid tastes, but if this fish comes to us in China, I'm afraid it won't be long before it's endangered!
Adult piglet squid can generally grow up to 10 cm so big, the size of the avocado we eat about the same size. The body length can reach 4 inches, and they have a lot of pigmentation on the body, because it has a round body and curved tentacles and named.
Piglet squid can be shy, cover its face and be cute
It is transparent all over its body and lives in the deepest part of the water. It often swims upside down in the water and moves slowly, and its eyes glow a bit in the dark bottom of the sea, producing an orange light. Why do the eyes glow? Because it is easy to see clearly in the darkness of the sea. And it is different from other squid is a round body, and a pair of large and black eyes.
From a distance, it looks a little like a piglet, and a little like a deer, it looks really, the advantages of cute. In a closer look can see the banded piglet squid's tentacles like a curly hair, making it look even more naive.
They are filled with ammonia and can automatically adjust their buoyancy. When they are young, the banded piglet squid usually live in the shallow surface of the ocean, where the depth of water is between one hundred and two hundred meters. Until they grow to adulthood they will descend to very deep zones in the middle and distant oceans.
