The world's largest cattle breeding country
In the Indian religion, the cow is a sacred object of the religion and a representative of God, which cannot be killed or eaten. In that era of famine, a large number of Indians would rather starve to death in the streets than dare to slaughter the countless cattle on the road.
In the region, 85% of the people are Hindu, and in the minds of these believers, the cow is a symbol of reproduction. It is no exaggeration to say that cows are safer than women in India, and cars have to get out of the way when walking in the street.
The funny thing is that there are many saints specifically for the so-called "sacred cattle" to open a nursing home, when they can not properly forage for food, they will be unified to take in the centralized feeding. Sometimes, it is really difficult for us to use the secular perspective to understand what the Indians do.
Nowadays, the number of cattle has reached the point of flooding, with 40,000 heads homeless almost every year. But since killing cattle is strictly prohibited in the constitution, these cattle are left to fend for themselves, and they are like vagrants, wandering the streets every day.
Every holiday season, farmers will be dressed up cattle, either in the face of color, or to hang a brass bell around the neck, simply more than their own sons. In the winter when it snows, but also specially tailored to the cattle linen clothing, fearing that in the street is frozen.
