The world's longest-lived lizard: the emperor snake lizard survived for 54 years!
The longest-lived lizard in the world is the emperor snake lizard, with an average lifespan of about 50 years, the longest being one that has survived for 54 years in the Copenhagen Museum, mainly in the northern part of the Caucasus Mountains, parts of the Middle East and Asia. The most distinctive feature is that it has no limbs and resembles the appearance of a snake.
